Overview:  Provides protection for the officials, and their organisation, against claims brought against them for alleged mismanagement.

Cover:  Cover for losses arising from claims brought against the officials and the organisation including duty to defend, libel and slander, incidental professional advice, insured versus insured and legal defence costs.

Who is it for?:  For Charities, Educational Establishments, Housing Associations, National Health Service Trusts and Trade Associations. Any not-for-profit organisation, including companies limited by guarantee, for example: Charities, Housing Associations, National Health Service Trusts, Trade Associations, Universities, Colleges and Schools

The officials of public and private bodies such as charities, health service trusts, trade associations and universities have the same duty of care in the performance of their responsibilities as do the directors and officers of trading companies. These responsibilities apply equally to paid officials and volunteers acting as trustees and in some cases are governed by legislation. Officials of such bodies can be held personally liable for failure to perform their duties, putting their personal assets at risk. AIG UK's AffinityGuard provides protection for the officials, and their organisation, against claims brought against them for alleged mismanagement.
